The Progress of the Meditation Centre!

The Meditation centre is taking shape with the placement of the grass roof.

                    An incredible retaining rock wall!

     The Water tank perched upon its tower high on the land.

                       The grass roof is progressing nicely!

I am imagining sitting under this huge alang-alang roof, looking out over the Bali Sea, running a meditation retreat. My dream is manifesting before my eyes!

Beginnings of a Meditation Centre

      Ceremony to thank the Gods for the new building.

The Meditation Centre is well under way. Workers are busy putting the roof trusses in place in preparation for the alang-alang roof, which will go on next week!

This shows a worker looking out of the bedroom at the back of the meditation area.The area for meditation is an open deck looking out over the Bali Sea.

There will be a mezzanine floor (for extra beds and a desk for writing) above the bedroom. The large triangular window in the mezzanine  will have an amazing view of the ocean as will the window from our bedroom.


The water tower is at the highest point of the land. We decided to make use of the space beneath the tower, so designed a room that can be a laundry and kitchenette and storage room all in one.

 On the left side of the roof will be a solar hot water system.

 

The view from underneath this tree is spectacular. We might put a bale here or just an outdoor table and chairs to sit at while we eat or have a cup of tea.

 

Snorkeling in Bali

Tony and I Just returned from Bali after doing some creating on the land we now own there. Part of my dream has been to live within walking of a beach.  I love to swim and snorkel; in fact, during this last visit as I snorkeled in  the clear blue waters of Jemeluk Bay, I thought to myself: "I could do this every day for the rest of my life and never get bored!" I am bursting at the seams with gratitude for what is transpiring in my life. To be led on a journey to a remote part of Bali and find a hidden paradise with its unique underwater world, and then to find and purchase land there, is quite magical.  This is what happens when you dream, then follow your heart's guidance, putting aside all fears and doubts and jumping off the deep end and going for what you really want. It can be scary at times, because there are no guarantees and the future's not ours to see, but if we just muster up a bit of courage and throw caution to the wind, it is amazing what the universe sends our way. (Actually, it's always better than our own dreams!)
Tony and I have put together some video footage of our snorkeling experience on the coral reef at Jemeluk Bay. For those who have never been snorkeling, may I introduce you to the beauty and wonder that lies just under the surface. If you watch it to the very end, you'll be in for a treat as 2 lion fish dance into each others arms!

Visit to the Land!

I have just returned from Bali where I spent time on our land, deciding where the meditation/retreat centre will be built, setting out pegs and discussing plans with Nengah and Iluh. Walking on the land felt different this time. The beautiful stone wall is now fully encasing our little piece of Balinese paradise, and I felt cocooned in its energy. I feel so excited to be here!

 This is the halfway mark, where the ground will be leveled and a bale or table and chairs will sit.

One day this will be the position of a small cafe, serving organically grown food from the garden....

 This will be the view from our bedroom window.....

There is a place near Amed that is full of natural beauty, a place hidden within the mountains, far from tourists, a place held sacred by the Balinese. It is the Sacred Springs. There are 5 separate springs in one small area, each with it's unique taste. Local people come here to gather holy water for their ceremonies. I decided to complete my own ceremony right at the springs, first using the gritty mud clay from the wall from which one spring emerges, followed by a holy water wash. It was my way of letting go of some old hindrances.

My dream includes bringing others to this sacred place and guiding them on their own special cleansing ceremony.
